This week on the X Button, it’s all about choices, the good, the bad, and the games! Blake, Peter and Jason talk about Fox’s comments on Bulletstorm and Activision’s new IP. Then we go into moral choices in today’s video games. Are they being used to enhance a game’s story or is moral choice just a bad option. We also go into how this unique gameplay feature can be improved.
This week the Blake, Jason and Peter theorize about the release of Bioware’s new MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic. Will it be a success or just another failed MMO underneath Blizzard’s World of Warcraft. We then jump into storytelling and writing in games from their beginnings as text boxes to voice acted cinematics! How they can being merged into the gameplay and enhance the player’s experience.
It is just us three! Jason, Peter, and Blake talking about games. First, we share some of our thoughts on the NGP and the 3DS. We then go into what we look for in a game and why we enjoy them. Then we move into our main topic of game design colleges. Who better to give a run down on this new form of education than from three students who all attended one.
